Salesman is a perfect job to identify the American myth of success- American Dream. What a salesman earns depends on what he has done. The approach to analyse this research is the sociological approach and history to know the facts in the industrial era of America. This play is to tell us about the tragedy of a desperately seeker of the American dream in the industrial era. Willy Loman, an ambitious salesman, believes that success is “money”.He is also certain that such a success is attainable to whoever works hard for it and he is well-liked.The problem is that he grows older and older, whereas competition becomes more severe. Dissatisfaction with many things leads Willy to commit suicide by driving fast his car. He has failed to gain the success myth of American Dream. The saddest thing is that until the end of his life, he still firmly believes in making success money.
